Vision Group Debuts LiLic Sidecar HVDC Backup Power at YOTTA 2026

PR NewswireOct 5, 2026

Vision Group showcased its lineup of AI data center power and energy storage products at YOTTA 2026 in Las Vegas on September 29–30, marking the first public appearance of its new LiLic Sidecar battery backup system, according to a PR Newswire release.

A Hybrid Approach to AI Load Swings

LiLic Sidecar is built for high-power-density AI data centers, connecting directly to an 800V DC busbar (±400V) and compatible with the OCP ORV4 open rack standard. It uses a hybrid cell design that pairs lithium-ion capacitors, for handling rapid AI load fluctuations, with lithium iron phosphate batteries for sustained backup. In a five-module configuration, each cabinet delivers 1MW of rated discharge power and at least 60 seconds of backup at a 1MW load. The system combines immersion cooling with cold-plate cooling to manage heat in the high-voltage setup.

Broader Power and Storage Portfolio

Alongside LiLic Sidecar, Vision Group presented its 800V HVDC architecture, which the company says is already deployed at a hyperscale AI data center in Ulanqab. It also displayed a 72kW battery backup unit with a compact 2RU, 5+1 redundant design, and a battery energy storage portfolio spanning 5.015MWh and 6.48MWh liquid-cooled containers plus a 215kWh immersion-cooled cabinet.

"This is more than a product. It represents a new path for Vision Group to redefine AIDC backup power architecture," said Tom Qin, Vice President of Strategy and Business Management at Vision Group.

Founded in 1994, Vision Group said it operates in more than 100 countries and regions, with manufacturing in Vietnam, and named North America as a strategic focus for future growth. The company said it collaborates with Eaton, Vertiv, Schneider Electric and Delta to align its products with customer requirements.
