Schneider Electric announced the launch of its new Motivair WCDU on September 23, a coolant distribution unit built to integrate liquid and air cooling within a single system for high-density AI data center deployments.
The WCDU is designed for technical corridor-based cooling architectures, with a range of configuration and installation options intended to give operators more flexibility. A single unit delivers cooling capacity of up to 3.5MW at 1.5 L/min/kW, or 2.5MW at 2.0 L/min/kW, and supports approach temperature differences as low as 2°C to help improve PUE and reduce operating costs. Up to 20 units can be coordinated together in a group mode, allowing the system to scale to support 30-40MW data halls.
The unit has a zero lateral clearance design intended for space-constrained deployments, along with a 15-inch touchscreen HMI. It includes hot-swappable pumps, pressure-independent control valves and 25-micron filters, and offers optional N+1 redundancy for deployments of up to 2.5MW.

Shipping in selected regions is set to begin in October 2026, with U.S. pre-orders opening in early 2027.
