DatacenterDynamicsOct 4, 2026

Crusoe has filed for two data center buildings in Jayton, Kent County, Texas, along Country Road 233 and P2390, in a project representing a $4.8 billion investment, according to DatacenterDynamics. Each building spans 759,260 sq ft (70,540 sqm). Construction is set to begin at the end of January 2027, with the two buildings targeted for completion in May and July 2029.

Part of a Larger Multi-Site Build

The Jayton filing is tied to Crusoe's wider "Project Hyper," which also includes three buildings in Childress, each carrying a $2.4 billion investment. Combined, Project Hyper's Jayton and Childress sites represent a total investment of $12 billion. Two of the Childress buildings are already under construction, with a third expected to begin this month; all three are targeting completion in the first half of 2028.

Separate Childress Campus With Lancium

Crusoe is also working with Lancium on a separate 1.4GW grid-connected campus in Childress spanning 270 acres, which is planned to include behind-the-meter solar and energy storage. Companies including Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, Google, and Oracle have announced capacity agreements at various Crusoe locations across Texas.
