Crusoe, the AI factory company, has confirmed it is the developer of a Google data center campus under construction in Armstrong County, outside Amarillo, Texas, according to a company announcement.
The campus connects directly to the adjacent Goodnight 1 wind farm, which is already operational at 265.5MW, along with the Goodnight 2 wind farm, also 265.5MW, which is currently under construction. Crusoe broke ground on the project in June 2025, and more than 5,500 skilled laborers are working on-site daily.
The facility uses a closed-loop, non-evaporative liquid cooling system designed to limit its water footprint to domestic uses. Google's Energy Impact Fund is also supporting efficiency upgrades to public buildings and homes in Armstrong County. Crusoe said it has two additional campuses under development in Abilene, Texas.
"Building the future of AI requires a new kind of infrastructure, starting with energy. Crusoe's strategy is to build AI factories directly at the source of abundant, low-cost energy," said Chase Lochmiller, CEO and co-founder of Crusoe.
