How to realize the benefits of OCP for data centres. The deployment of OCP hardware is increasing fast now and indeed enables a lot of benefits for the data centre facility, but where are the savings for the facility? The revolution in the data centre facility is not quite visible yet. Image: Royal HaskoningDHV […]Read More Royal HaskoningDHV at Datacenter Forum November 29 Stockholm
Continuous-changing infrastructure in data centres, how to manage this? More and more data centre managers working in enterprise organisations are confronted with a continuous-changing infrastructure. Often this is the result of business acquisitions. A consolidation in which all facilities are concentrated in several big data centre facilities is not always possible. Nevertheless, all the important […]Read More OpenText manages European Data centres with ‘2 pairs of eyes’
Martien Arts presenting at the DataCenter Waste Heat and Innovation Congress How to make heat from data centres profitable? Data centres as part of an urban eco system? At the DataCenter Waste Heat and Innovation Congress, October 10 in Amsterdam, Martien Arts of Royal HaskoningDHV demonstrated that reuse of waste heat of data centres can […]Read More How to make heat from data centres profitable?

IT systems in data centers are consuming much energy, but when you work in the data center industry you get a lot of energy back! How ? It is just fun keep optimizing older technology and implementing new clean technology but providing 100% availability because that’s why data centers are design, build and operated for. […]Read More Combining innovation and availability in our data center
The data center industry is a rookie compared with many other industries. It’s about twenty years young, but when you look what this industry did especially in the last years, other industries can learn from it. The data center industry became very successful in the cooling of IT equipment but also in throwing away […]Read More It’s time for the next step, the reuse of energy
More and more I see articles about building data centers in cold, but isolated areas because of the “free”cooling. The last years we have successfully optimized cooling installations in the data centers which is great. Let’s take the next step: re-use heat from a data center! Building a data center to isolated places won’t make […]Read More Data centers in cold but isolated places
It’s again more than 5 years ago that we started not using compressor cooling in our atom86 & Schuberg Philis data center.
How cool is that when you consider there are still data centers build these days using chillers which are consuming to much electricity.
In stead of chillers we use cooling towers and aquifer thermal energy storage systems which provided us 100% cooling.Read More 5 year ago we stopped with compressor cooling in our datacenter
